For US & EU beginners · Tor Safest · No JS · ~10 minutes · Updated 13 May 2026
New to darknet? This guide gets you from zero to first login without confusion. We use only official sources and our verified V3 mirror. All screenshots have alt text — no video needed.
Go to torproject.org on clearnet, download for your OS. Verify signature if you can (Wikipedia: Tor explains why). Install, open, click “Connect”. Don’t use Tor2Web proxies for registration.
Shield icon → Settings → Security → Safest. This disables JavaScript. Test: reload this site — it should look perfect. Nexus Market is built for this. Need visuals? See Tor Safest settings guide.
From Mirrors, copy:
http://nexusme7neytsjqbydka3i322numprlp6ex6xjlesjyigpurcrz5i6id.onion/Paste into Tor URL bar. Tips: right-click → Copy link address works with JS off; bookmark this guide, not the onion (onions rotate).
Pick a unique username you’ve never used elsewhere. Generate a Diceware passphrase (4+ words). Save mnemonic on paper. Click Register → you’ll see PGP 2FA prompt next.
Don’t skip! Generate 4096-bit key (see PGP guide), add public key in Account → Security → PGP 2FA. Now even if password leaks, account stays safe.
Try BACKUP onion on Mirrors. PRIMARY sometimes rotates during DDoS. Uptime 99.75% — usually back in minutes.
Tor is slower than clearnet — normal. Avoid refreshing fast; let handshake finish. V3 mirror is fastest for newcomers.
